There are many different ways of helping people resolve their personal and relationship issues – and there is no one single therapeutic approach that works for every client. Therefore, I learn and employ a variety of therapeutic tools in order to best meet the needs of the person sitting before me. All such tools are used within the context of a client-centred approach to counselling. This means that the client has the opportunity to set his or her goals, talk about his or her concerns and feelings, decide which strategies and approaches feel right, and work collaboratively with the therapist in order to achieve the desired therapeutic outcomes. In this section, you will find a description of some of the techniques I find most effective:
